About

Our Manifesto
We Are Family magazine is a community resource and platform for social change.
We represent lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in a family context through positive representation, advice, support, activism and signposting.

HLBabyWe Are Family magazine is an independent publication. It is the brainchild of Hannah Latham, a freelance journalist and lesbian mum.

"The idea for this magazine came out of my eight-year journey to parenting. We looked into every route available to us as a lesbian couple. It was a long, emotional journey. I want to support my community through that journey and celebrate the amazing stories of people becoming parents when their options are limited. I want to support the whole family unit from every point of view."

We Are Family magazine

Three strong sections to guide you:

1

Thinking about starting a family but don't know where to begin?

Whether it’s still just an idea or you've decided to go ahead, our planning section will help you explore your options and take positive steps forward.

2

Are you a parent or co-parent?

If you're bringing up kids, part or full time, the parenting section is for you: practical advice on sleeping, eating, behaviour: sharing the highs and lows of being part of a family.

3

Are you one of the family?

Who do you call family? Your community, your friends? Maybe you have an LGBT family member even if you don't identify that way. Our family & community section can help you understand better, find or offer support, feel informed, know the history, be proud!
